Belinda
Carlisle became one of pop rocks biggest stars.
She was a co-founder of the Go-Goes which consisted
of five female performers. The group produced singles
that went double platinum. The Go-Go's revolutionized
the female pop scene of the 1980's, and were the first
female group to top the charts.
The band broke up in 1985 but Belinda stepped out on
her own. She had several winners and "Heaven is a Place
on Earth" was a huge success. She topped charts in the
U.S., UK, and Europe. She also appeared in movies and
composed soundtracks for films such as "Fast Times at
Ridgemont High, and other movies. She had brief reunion
performances with the Go-Go's, sang for a Super Bowl
commercial, and she was also featured on the cover of
Playboy in 2001.
