Bill Warden, now deceased, was a neighbor, a friend, and an occasional golf partner. I saw his paintings many times while visiting he and his wife in their home. He owned a very successful advertising agency and painted as a hobby, in a large studio he had constructed over his garage, until encouraged to sell his art on a commercial basis.
It was my pleasure to be able to give Bill his first commission of nineteen paintings for private offices, and three large murals for the lobby, of a bank building under construction. The first two paintings, the campfire and the stagecoach, were painted in 1976, while the third painting, a covered wagon was painted many years later. Since that time he has become well known among western artists and his paintings have sold all over the world.
Needless to say, the value of his paintings have increased substantially in price over the intervening years. Bill was a scratch plus three golfer and I feel certain he is playing golf now on that lush eighteen up above and painting angels as a hobby.
